Travel from Tokyo’s bright crossings into Fuji-Hakone lake country, through Matsumoto and Takayama to the thatched roofs of Shirakawa-go. Continue through Nagoya to Osaka, with Kyoto and Nara completing this journey across central Japan.

DAY 01Arrival in Tokyo
Arrive at Haneda, transfer to your hotel and rest. Meet your guide to explore Asakusa, Sensō-ji Temple and Nakamise shopping street.
DAY 02Tokyo’s bright contrasts
Visit Tokyo Skytree’s 350-metre deck, Shinjuku, Shibuya Crossing and the Hachikō statue.
DAY 03Fuji & the Hakone lakes
Visit Mount Fuji’s 5th Station where conditions allow. Cruise Lake Ashi and ride the Hakone Ropeway over Owakudani before dinner and a Fuji-area hotel stay.
DAY 04Lakeside views & a castle town
Visit Lake Kawaguchiko and Oshino Hakkai, then stop for photos at Matsumoto Castle before an overnight stay in Matsumoto.
DAY 05Old towns & thatched roofs
Explore Takayama’s Old Town and the UNESCO village of Shirakawa-go, then continue to Nagoya.
DAY 06Industry, castles & Osaka
Visit the Toyota Commemorative Museum and stop for Nagoya Castle photos before travelling to Osaka.
DAY 07Deer, bamboo & red gates
Meet Nara Park’s deer, explore Arashiyama’s Bamboo Grove and walk beneath Fushimi Inari’s torii gates. Optional Tōdai-ji entry is extra.
DAY 08Osaka & the journey home
Visit Kuromon Market, stop for Osaka Castle photos and explore Shinsaibashi and Dōtonbori before your airport transfer.
