Two journeys, two ways to connect Japan’s cities and landscapes. Both start in Tokyo and finish in the Kansai region, but their routes and experiences are distinct.
The Golden Road: 8 days
The Golden Road crosses Fuji-Hakone lake country, Matsumoto, Takayama and Shirakawa-go before Nagoya and Osaka. Kyoto and Nara complete the route. Highlights include Lake Ashi, the Hakone Ropeway, traditional mountain towns and Fushimi Inari’s torii gates.
Japan Highlights: 11 days
The longer programme adds coastal Kamakura, Hiroshima and Miyajima, with Shinkansen journeys connecting major stops. In Kyoto, a tea ceremony and temple visits sit alongside time in Arashiyama and Gion. A traditional ryokan night is also part of the supplied programme.
